Hello, I’ve just built a new system and it is having lots of problems in regonising the hard drive on boot-up.

So I’ve just re-formatted the drive and I’m currently re-installing Windows from scratch, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to regonise the drive okay from now on. Rental car lied to k8f Are we seeing the end of the road for the Windows NT kernel?

The drive was returned to the shop and exchanged but the problem persisted with the new drive. There were other suggestions than yours to that effect, apparently. Did you get things fixed, gemima brown? I think you see the way I was thinking.

Thanks for the correction, k8nr. After umpteen reboots and swapping round of cables and re-seating connections again and much fiddling around I was finally able to get the hard drive regonised and installed WinXP Pro, BUT the problem still persists, sometimes on reboot the drive is not regonised and it can take ages of repeat rebooting to finally get it back again.

So, my two questions are: Sign in with Twitter. I’m just going by what I see in the manual. Hangs in the BIOS boot.

Are they out yet, or will I have to use the 32 bit version of Windows? Dear Comcast, I won’t use your email service The problem is that only sometimes does the BIOS regonise the drive, and then fa up okay, but most of the time it doesn’t and I’m not sure why.
